How much does the 2020 BMW M4 cost?

Prices are up 8.87% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 151 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 BMW M4 a good car?

Yes — 5/5. The 2020 BMW M4 blends everyday usability with serious speed, and it keeps the driver-focused character that BMW M cars are known for. You also get an upscale cabin, standard leather upholstery, climate control, LED headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels, plus M-specific touches that reinforce its performance focus. For you, that means a used performance coupe that still works as a daily driver while delivering the sharp handling and rear-wheel-drive feel enthusiasts want.

35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 BMW M4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 BMW M4 is presented as a well-rounded performance coupe with solid value retention, which supports confidence for used buyers. Its combination of strong performance and upscale equipment suggests it can be a rewarding ownership choice if you stay on top of maintenance.

For long-term ownership, you should expect higher running costs than a mainstream coupe, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW M4?

At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has had any collision repairs, track use, or aftermarket modifications. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the brakes, suspension, steering, and overall wear, since performance cars like this may have been driven hard. Pay close attention to condition, because the right example will matter more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW M4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 151 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.87% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 71.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,855, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $56,970 sits slightly above last year's $52,327.

That price movement suggests the M4 has held demand well, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A model year that is still trading above its prior average usually has enough enthusiast interest to support stronger resale performance. If you buy a clean example and keep it well maintained, you should be in a better position when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.87% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $65,203, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $56,970 average.
• It adds a more driver-focused experience with a manual gearbox and stronger enthusiast appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong satisfaction, solid inventory, and a lower average price. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model and a more enthusiast-focused feel, the 2021 is the better upgrade path.
