2021 Audi SQ5
3.0T quattro Premium Plus AWD
50,836 mi
$30,422
Overview
The Audi SQ5, a performance compact crossover, was last redesigned in 2018. For 2020, it gets no changes of note. It competes primarily with the BMW X3 M40i, Jaguar F-PACE S, Mercedes-AMG GLC 43, and Porsche Macan S.
The SQ5 features a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that makes 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with a slick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission and standard Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). The system is potent enough to hit 60 mph in 5.1 seconds. It also comes with a sport-tuned suspension and beefy performance brakes. The SQ5 returns 19 mpg city, 24 highway, and 21 combined with premium gas.
Last year's Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims all return for 2020. The Premium trim comes with LED exterior lights, 20-inch wheels, a 7.0-inch infotainment display, Bluetooth, leather-and-Alcantara seating, 12-way power seats, a 180-watt sound system, and keyless access and start. To this, the Premium Plus trim tacks on navigation, an LCD instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and a wireless phone-signal booster. Finally, the Prestige includes a power-adjustable steering column, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, and a head-up display (HUD). With the rear seats up, 25.1 cubic feet of cargo space is available. With the seats folded, that expands to 53.1 cubic feet.
Your basic SQ5 includes a reversing camera, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and forward-collision warning. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic detection, vehicle-exit assist, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist, active lane assist, and a top-view 360-degree camera are extra-cost options. While the SQ5 hasn't been crash-tested, the regular Q5, which is related, scored excellently when evaluated for crash safety by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Q5 a 5-star overall rating.
The SQ5 offers plenty of technology and style, making it a worthy option.

Stepping up from our 3.2 Q5 this is a massive jump. The ride is fantastic for a short wheel base suv, superb brakes ,driving dynamics are solid and predictable, interior ergonomics are best in class for sure. We looked at a Macan S and T as well. The SQ5 had more room, better interior and was less $.

Is the 2020 Audi SQ5 a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating suggests strong owner satisfaction for this model year.
That kind of feedback can make your search easier if you want a used SUV with a positive ownership reputation, and 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Is the 2020 Audi SQ5 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
For used buyers, that points to lower perceived ownership risk, but you should still focus on maintenance history and overall condition before you commit.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Audi SQ5?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection and pay close attention to signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. It also helps to compare condition carefully across listings, since the best value often comes from the cleanest example rather than the cheapest one.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Audi SQ5?
This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.
- Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 291 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.45% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 75.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $25,583, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Audi SQ5's resale value?
The current average of $26,505 sits slightly below last year's $28,032.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can matter if you're planning to sell later. A softer current price can limit near-term appreciation, but it may also help keep the vehicle accessible to future buyers. If demand stays steady, a well-kept example should remain competitive in the used market.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 Audi SQ5 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.45% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2020 makes sense if you want a year with solid market support, decent deal availability, and strong owner feedback. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower average price outweighs the 2020's current market balance.
