Used 2020 Acura TLX for Sale nearPhoenix, AZ

How much does the 2020 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have softened 2.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 795 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Acura TLX earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners commonly praise the smooth ride, handling, and overall features, and the car’s appealing exterior design also comes through in feedback. The TLX’s driver-focused personality fits shoppers who want a premium sedan that feels more engaging on a familiar road, especially when equipped for stronger performance.

The trade-offs are clear: the cabin layout can feel less intuitive, and the technology is dated. That means you should expect a car that delivers value and driving enjoyment, but not the most polished interior experience in the luxury class.

Only 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the better examples can move quickly.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a smooth, dependable feel, with many owners describing the car as enjoyable to live with over time. The expert review also emphasizes that the TLX feels comfortable and quiet in daily driving, which supports the sense that it can be a solid long-term companion.

The TLX also benefits from a cost-effective ownership profile, and the expert review notes that Acura regularly offers discounted lease deals. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about living with aging controls and technology that may feel frustrating over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Acura TLX?

At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the TLX’s technology and ergonomics are recurring complaints, it also makes sense to test every control, screen, and driver-assistance feature before you buy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec package adds 19-inch wheels, revised bumper designs, side sill skirts, and oversize round exhaust outlets, while the Technology Package adds comfort, convenience, safety, and infotainment enhancements. The base car is less visually aggressive and less richly equipped.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 206-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic driving the front wheels, while higher-spec versions can bring a 290-hp, 3.5-liter V6 with a 9-speed automatic and torque-vectoring SH-AWD.
• Safety package: Every TLX has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is included on all but the base TLX with no option packages.
• Infotainment: The TLX uses dual displays, and the system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The layout is a major weak point, so make sure the screens, controls, and voice-recognition functions work the way you want.
• Fuel efficiency: The TLX returned 23 mpg in testing, which matched the EPA’s combined estimate.

Which 2020 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Acura TLX is offered in 3 trim levels: base TLX, A-Spec, PMC Edition.

Here's the short version:

• base TLX: This is the entry point, but it’s the least compelling choice if you want the strongest mix of style and equipment. It makes sense only if you’re focused on keeping the purchase price down and can live without the added visual and feature upgrades.
• A-Spec: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the styling upgrades that make the TLX look more distinctive, and the expert review specifically recommends upgrading with the Technology Package for its comfort, convenience, safety, and infotainment enhancements.
• PMC Edition: This is the top-performing and most exclusive version, with the 290-hp V6, 9-speed automatic, and SH-AWD. It suits you if you want the most complete TLX experience and are willing to pay for rarity and performance.

The safety content notes that blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is included on all but the base TLX with no option packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Acura TLX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and wait for the right listing.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 795 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,137, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $21,922 sits slightly below last year's $22,465.

That softer pricing suggests the TLX has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell.

The model’s value story is helped by its strong owner satisfaction and its appeal to buyers who want a premium sedan with a more engaging personality. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX safe?

The 2020 Acura TLX does not qualify for a Top Safety Pick due to an Acceptable rather than Good result in the small overlap frontal-impact test on the driver’s side. It earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA test, including rollover.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every TLX has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is included on all but the base TLX with no option packages.

The main caveat is that the safety tech can feel less refined than in newer vehicles, and the IIHS result shows that the aging structure has limits.

Should I buy a 2020 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 TLX stands out for its driver-focused personality, strong value, and available SH-AWD performance.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,101, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,922 average.
• It brings a new platform, new styling, and a more premium-feeling cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and don’t mind the older interior and tech, the 2020 is the smarter buy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer design and a more upscale feel, the 2021 is the better upgrade path.
