Used 2020 Acura TLX for Sale near Colorado

How much does the 2020 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have softened 2.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 761 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Acura TLX earns a 4.62/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners commonly praise the smooth ride, handling, and overall features, and the car’s exterior design also gets positive attention. The TLX’s appeal is strongest if you want a luxury sedan with an engaging driving personality and solid value for the money.

The trade-offs are clear: the cabin layout can feel awkward, and the technology is dated and frustrating to use. That makes the TLX a better fit if you care more about driving feel and value than cutting-edge interior polish.

The market shows 35.5% good or great deals, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a smooth, dependable ownership experience, with many drivers describing the car as enjoyable and well-liked over time. The review summary also highlights the TLX as a vehicle people appreciate for its overall features and driving manners, which supports the sense that it can be a car you count on.

The expert evaluation reinforces that impression with notes about a comfortable, quiet ride and well-behaved automatic transmission. The cost-effectiveness commentary also suggests Acura’s positioning and incentives can make ownership easier to justify.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about living with the TLX’s aging ergonomics and technology.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Acura TLX?

At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the TLX’s cabin and controls are already a known weak point, it is worth checking that every switch, screen, and driver-assistance feature works as intended. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you are comparing similarly priced examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec option package adds 19-inch wheels, revised bumper designs, side sill skirts, and oversize round exhaust outlets, while the PMC Edition adds unique body-color and gloss black exterior accents. The Technology Package is the recommended upgrade for comfort, convenience, safety, and infotainment enhancements, and it is the best-value choice if you want the most useful equipment without jumping to the top special edition.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 206-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic driving the front wheels. Higher-spec versions add a 290-hp, 3.5-liter V6, a 9-speed automatic, and torque-vectoring SH-AWD, which gives the car its strongest performance and more engaging road manners.
• Safety package: Every TLX has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is included on all but the base TLX with no option packages.
• Infotainment: The TLX uses a dual-screen setup, and the system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The layout is dated and frustrating, but the car does include a premium audio system and a smartphone charger in the center bin.
• Fuel efficiency: The TLX returned 23 mpg in testing, matching the EPA’s combined estimate.

Which 2020 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Acura TLX is offered in 3 trim levels: base TLX, A-Spec, and PMC Edition.

Here's the short version:

• base TLX: This is the entry point if you want the lowest price, but it misses the blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert unless you add option packages. It makes the most sense if you are focused on value and can live with the standard equipment.
• A-Spec: This is the best-value trim if you want the TLX to look and feel more distinctive. It adds the sportier styling treatment called out in the review and pairs well with the Technology Package for a more complete mix of comfort, convenience, safety, and infotainment.
• PMC Edition: This is the top special edition, and it bundles the strongest powertrain with the full set of available equipment. It suits you best if you want the most exclusive and most powerful TLX, but it is the least practical choice for value shoppers.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base TLX with no option packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Acura TLX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 761 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,121, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $22,043 sits slightly below last year's $22,543.

That decline suggests the TLX is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can work against future sellers if the market stays soft. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The model’s value story is helped by its strong equipment and driving appeal, but resale will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX safe?

The 2020 Acura TLX does not qualify for a Top Safety Pick due to an Acceptable rather than Good result in the small overlap frontal-impact test on the driver’s side. It earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA test, including rollover.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every TLX has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base TLX with no option packages.

The main caveat is the IIHS small-overlap result, which keeps it from the top safety award. The driver-assistance systems are comprehensive, but the expert review notes that they can feel less smooth and refined than newer rivals.

Should I buy a 2020 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its driver-focused personality, strong value, and available SH-AWD performance.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,119, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $22,043 average.
• The 2021 moves to a new platform with a new exterior, interior, and powertrain choices.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and are comfortable with older tech, the 2020 is the smarter buy. If you want a newer-generation TLX with a more modern design and cabin, the 2021 is the better path, especially if you are willing to pay more for the redesign. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 remains the more compelling choice.
