What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Acura RDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and signs of wear in the cabin, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well its equipment and interior presentation have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base RDX comes well equipped with synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats with 12-way power adjustability, a power moonroof, a 10.2-inch infotainment screen, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and driver-assistance features. The Technology Package adds upgraded Milano leather seating, 19-inch wheels, additional driver-assistance features, rear-door keyless entry, and a GPS-linked climate control system. The A-Spec adds ventilated front seats, a panoramic moonroof, Acura’s UltraSuede upholstery, and sport pedals. The Advance Package adds rain-sensing wipers, acoustic front glass, 16-way power front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient cabin lighting, and natural Olive Ash wood trim. The base trim is the best-value choice.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel drive or available Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive. The setup delivers strong acceleration and solid highway passing power.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, road-departure mitigation, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow. The Technology Package adds front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic monitoring. The Advance Package adds a 10.5-inch head-up display, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a washer nozzle for the rear-view camera.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 10.2-inch screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a WiFi hot spot, a 9-speaker audio system, and satellite radio. The Technology Package adds two rear USB ports, navigation with real-time traffic updates, and an ELS premium audio system. The A-Spec gets ELS Studio 3D premium sound with 16 speakers, while the Advance Package adds a 10.5-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The A-Spec test model with SH-AWD returns an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city, 27 highway, 24 combined. The 10-speed automatic helps manage power and fuel economy, and the stop-start system can be switched off.

Which 2020 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Acura RDX is offered in 4 trim levels: base RDX, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, and Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• base RDX: This is the best-value trim because it already gives you a strong equipment list, including heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, a power moonroof, a 10.2-inch infotainment screen, and a full set of driver-assistance features.
• Technology Package: Choose this if you want the most meaningful upgrade path, since it adds Milano leather, 19-inch wheels, more driver-assistance features, rear-door keyless entry, navigation, and a better audio system.
• A-Spec Package: Pick this if you want the sportiest appearance and a richer cabin feel, with ventilated front seats, UltraSuede upholstery, sport pedals, and the 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D system.
• Advance Package: Go here if you want the most comfort and convenience features, including heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, acoustic front glass, and the surround-view camera.

The Technology Package is the trim that most clearly balances added features and value, while the Advance Package is the most comfort-focused. The standard safety suite is already broad, and the Technology Package adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic monitoring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Acura RDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,721 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,100, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $24,100 sits slightly below last year's $25,633.

That price movement suggests the RDX has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it comes time to sell.

The model’s broad appeal also helps support future demand, especially because it combines strong value, comfort, and safety equipment. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Acura RDX safe?

The 2020 Acura RDX was named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, LATCH child-seat mounting systems, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist, and a rear-view camera. The standard driver-assistance suite includes lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, road-departure mitigation, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow.

The Technology Package adds front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic monitoring. The Advance Package adds a 10.5-inch head-up display, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a washer nozzle for the rear-view camera.

Should I buy a 2020 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the third-generation RDX formula with strong value, space, and safety tech.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $22,194, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $24,100 average.
• It is a redesigned model with a spacious, well-equipped cabin.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,045, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $24,100 average.
• It brings a more modern design direction and a rethought infotainment approach.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the sweet spot if you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and equipment without paying more for the newer model year. If price is your top priority, the 2019 is the cheaper path; if you want the newer design direction, the 2021 is the upgrade to consider.
