It rides on an all-new platform with significantly improved structural rigidity, and it uses a new direct-injected 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 152 horsepower. Safety tech also improves with the latest ring-shaped reinforcement frame safety architecture and new EyeSight technologies, while the Starlink connected services platform continues to offer automatic collision notification and SOS emergency assistance.
For 2019, Subaru also brought back the Crosstrek Hybrid as a plug-in hybrid. It offers 17 miles of electric-only driving and 35 mpg in combined driving when using the gasoline engine, and Subaru says it can travel at speeds up to 65 mph on electricity. The tradeoff is reduced utility, since it has less cargo space than the gas-only Crosstreks. Overall, the 2019 Crosstrek appeals to buyers who want a compact crossover with standard AWD, good practicality, and a reputation for safety, even if the base engine is not especially quick.

Love the acceleration power and comfort this car offers. Do not like the automated feature of correcting your driving when passing or getting close to a line in the road. I turned off that feature. But overall, I love this car!!

Like it the moment I bought it, and every time I get in it and drive it I like it even more. Took a couple of hours and studied all of the features and learned to use them all, so now I can do it blind. So far I do not have one negative thing to say about any aspect of the car.
