For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you verify condition carefully and avoid examples with unresolved issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 RAM 3500?

At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for heavy towing or commercial work. Focus on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and signs of wear that could matter more on a heavy-duty truck than on a lighter-duty vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $42,390, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $42,390 sits slightly below last year's $45,890.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the truck in strong condition and maintain it well, you’ll be better positioned to protect value when it’s time to sell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s capability and broad appeal among heavy-duty truck shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner satisfaction, good inventory depth, and a softer price trend. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented examples rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
