Is the 2019 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 RAM 2500 earns a 4.58/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2019 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes dependable performance, trouble-free towing, and a truck that many drivers feel confident keeping for the long haul. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction can reduce ownership risk, though you should still focus on maintenance history and overall condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 RAM 2500?

At 70.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on frame, suspension, steering feel, and signs of heavy towing or hard use. Because this is a heavy-duty truck, condition matters as much as mileage, so focus on how well the truck was maintained and whether it shows wear consistent with its job.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,561 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,423, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $36,423 sits slightly below last year's $39,408.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point now. For future resale, the truck’s value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it was maintained, especially because heavy-duty trucks can see more demanding use. Strong demand from shoppers who want capability plus comfort should help support resale, but clean history and careful ownership will matter most.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,600, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $36,423 average.
• It adds a more luxurious and innovative heavy-duty feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and meaningful inventory. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a more upscale presentation, the 2020 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize refinement over savings.
