How much does the 2019 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,762 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 RAM 1500 earns a 4.73/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, powerful engine, and spacious, well-appointed interior. They also highlight the truck’s comfort and the way it feels easy to live with day to day, while the stylish design and easy-to-use technology reinforce its appeal.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and some owners wish for better build quality. That makes it especially appealing if you want a comfortable full-size truck for commuting and everyday use, but you should be selective about trim and equipment.

The market shows 31.1% good or great deals, so there are still worthwhile listings to chase.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on comfort, power, and the kind of ownership experience people can count on over time. The expert review also emphasizes that the Ram’s smooth ride and composed driving manners make it feel settled and confidence-inspiring on the road.

The truck’s attention to detail and comfortable, versatile interior support the case for long-term ownership, especially if you value refinement as much as capability. For used buyers, the main risk is that condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge alone, so a careful inspection is still important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 RAM 1500?

At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, interior wear, and any signs of prior repair. Because this truck was offered with a wide range of equipment, it also pays to confirm that the features you want are actually present on the specific listing you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tradesman is the work-focused starting point with heavy-duty shock absorbers, a five-link coil-spring rear suspension, a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth hands-free calling, and two front USB ports. Big Horn adds chrome accents, 18-inch cast-aluminum wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, and steering-wheel-mounted radio controls. Rebel adds a more aggressive grille, fender flares, an electronically locking differential, upgraded shock absorbers, dark accents, a sport performance hood, and skid plates. Laramie adds power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, upgraded LED taillights, a 7-inch TFT instrument panel, remote keyless entry, LED ambient interior lighting, driver’s seat memory, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and leather seating with heated front seats. Longhorn adds a spray-in bedliner, chrome exterior details, chrome side steps, a power-release tailgate, 20-inch cast-aluminum wheels, wood interior inserts, a full center console with sliding middle tray, and premium interior door trim panels. Limited adds 20-inch cast aluminum two-tone wheels, the Active-Level four-corner air suspension, power-extending running boards, upgraded wood interior accents, premium leather front bucket seats, and heated/ventilated front and rear seats.
• Powertrain: The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque, rated at 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, and the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is also available with or without eTorque. The V8 makes 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, and the truck uses an 8-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive or available 4-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a full array of airbags, an electronic parking brake, integrated trailer-sway control, trailer braking control, traction control, hill-start assist, and a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim, while forward-collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, dynamic cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors are optional.
• Infotainment: The truck offers a 12-inch portrait touchscreen on higher trims, while some versions use an optional 8.4-inch screen. All screens run Uconnect in its fourth generation, and the system includes customizable layouts plus physical buttons for frequently used controls.
• Fuel efficiency: The conventional V8 with 4WD returns 15 mpg city, 21 highway, and 17 combined, while the RWD version does 22 mpg highway.

Which 2019 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2019 RAM 1500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the value-first choice if you want the essentials and plan to use the truck like a truck. You get the work-focused suspension setup, a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB ports, and the core towing hardware, but it’s the most stripped-down version.
• Big Horn: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more polished look, more comfort, and more convenience without jumping into luxury-truck pricing. The leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, and broader option availability make it a smart middle ground.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want the most distinctive appearance and the off-road-oriented hardware called out in the review. The locking differential, skid plates, and upgraded shocks make it the most specialized trim in the lineup.
• Laramie: This is the comfort-focused sweet spot if you want a more upscale cabin and better daily-driver features. The heated leather seating, memory settings, upgraded instrument display, and ambient lighting make it feel meaningfully more premium.
• Longhorn: Pick this if you want a more luxurious truck with extra convenience and style details. The spray-in bedliner, power-release tailgate, wood trim, and center-console upgrades make it feel richer and more tailored.
• Limited: This is the top luxury choice, with the most upscale materials and the most advanced comfort hardware. The air suspension, power-extending running boards, and heated/ventilated front and rear seats make it the most fully equipped version.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,762 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,214, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $24,214 sits slightly below last year's $26,674.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than broad market momentum alone.

Well-equipped trims with desirable comfort and safety features should hold buyer interest better than bare-bones versions. If you maintain the truck carefully and keep it clean, you’ll be in a stronger position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2019 RAM 1500 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include a full array of airbags, an electronic parking brake, integrated trailer-sway control, trailer braking control, traction control, hill-start assist, and a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim, while forward-collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, dynamic cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors are optional.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to pay close attention to trim and options if driver assistance matters to you. That makes higher trims or carefully optioned trucks the better fit for safety-minded used buyers.

Should I buy a 2019 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 brings a major comfort-and-tech step forward, with a more refined cabin and a standout 12-inch touchscreen.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $27,891, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $24,214 average.
• It adds the EcoDiesel engine across the lineup, giving you a rare diesel option on any trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and the more affordable entry point, the 2019 is the smarter buy. If diesel availability matters most and you’re willing to pay more, the 2020 is the better fit.
