Used 2019 Nissan Maxima for Sale nearCleveland, OH

How much does the 2019 Nissan Maxima cost?

Prices have softened 9.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 550 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Nissan Maxima earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, stylish appearance, comfortable interior, good handling, and plush leather seats. The overview also points to a premium midsize feel, strong power, and a comfortable, upscale cabin with a sporty edge.

The trade-offs are the outdated technology and a design that may not appeal to everyone. For you, that means the Maxima makes the most sense if you want a sedan that feels more engaging and upscale than many mainstream rivals, rather than one that leads on the latest tech.

Only 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market has some room for negotiation but not a flood of bargains.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers describing the car as a joy to drive and highlighting its comfortable, well-liked cabin. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Maxima’s enduring reputation and its strong, proven V6 powertrain.

The expert notes that the Maxima’s powertrain is smooth and well sorted, with torque steer reduced to a non-event and the engine delivering immediate, confident thrust. The cost-effectiveness commentary also frames it as a good value among six-cylinder sedans from a non-luxury brand.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about age-related wear, especially if prior owners were rough on the interior or neglected maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Nissan Maxima?

At 53.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and focus on whether any prior damage was repaired cleanly. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing, especially on cars with higher mileage or signs of cosmetic wear. Pay close attention to the cabin, electronics, and any signs of rattles or trim issues, since those are the kinds of concerns owners have mentioned.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S misses navigation, while higher trims add more convenience and luxury touches; the SV adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, and Platinum models add reverse emergency braking.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-emergency braking, a driver-attention monitor, and knee airbags for both front occupants; the SV adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, the SR adds pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning, and Platinum models add reverse emergency braking.
• Infotainment: All trims except the base S get updated navigation, and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a customizable home screen, and a high-speed USB-C port are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The Maxima is rated at 20 mpg city, 30 highway, and 24 combined.

Which 2019 Nissan Maxima trim should I buy?

The 2019 Nissan Maxima is offered in 6 trim levels: S, SV, SL, SR, Platinum, Platinum Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it skips navigation, so it makes the most sense only if you want the lowest price and can live without the extra tech.
• SV: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control while staying below the more expensive luxury-focused trims.
• SL: This trim is the step up if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the sportier or top-end versions.
• SR: Choose this if you want the sportier personality, including pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and a firmer ride.
• Platinum: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel and the added reverse emergency braking feature.
• Platinum Reserve: This is the most luxurious version, with semi-aniline saddle-colored leather and diamond quilting for buyers who want the richest cabin.

The safety-package trim note is simple: the SV adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, the SR adds pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning, and Platinum models add reverse emergency braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Nissan Maxima?

The market looks moderate and selective, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 550 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,749, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Nissan Maxima's resale value?

The current average of $16,877 sits slightly below last year's $18,647.

That decline suggests the Maxima has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to resell later, the softer current pricing means your future value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because the model still has strong appeal for buyers who want a powerful V6 sedan with a premium feel, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. A clean history and strong service records matter more when the market is already pricing the car below its prior-year level.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima safe?

The Maxima is an IIHS Top Safety Pick and earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, with four-star ratings for the front-passenger side in a frontal crash and for the side-impact pole test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward-emergency braking, a driver-attention monitor, and knee airbags for both the driver and front passenger. The SV adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, the SR adds pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning, and Platinum models add reverse emergency braking.

One caveat to keep in mind is that the Maxima does not offer ProPilot Assist, so it lacks Nissan’s semi-automated highway-driving suite.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Maxima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 refresh brings updated style, technology, and interior features.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,109, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $16,877 average.
• It adds a more spacious, comfort-focused feel with a luxe interior and spacious trunk.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it already reflects a softer market and still delivers the Maxima’s core strengths. If you can spend a bit more and want the next model year’s slightly roomier, more comfort-oriented presentation, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.
