Is the 2019 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its power, value, and comfort, and many describe it as rugged and reliable with enough practicality to handle everyday needs. The Frontier’s straightforward, work-truck character also fits buyers who want useful capability without extra frills. Is the 2019 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly calls it reliable, rugged, and dependable, with many drivers saying it meets their basic needs without trouble. That kind of long-term confidence matters if you want a used truck you can count on for regular use. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the truck’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Nissan Frontier?

At 60.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with collision records. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has seen work-duty or off-road use. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear, and whether the truck’s simplicity has been matched by consistent maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 953 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,863, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $18,322 sits slightly below last year's $19,519.

That price movement suggests the Frontier has softened enough to help buyers today, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays soft. A truck that holds owner interest and remains appealing for value-conscious shoppers can still support resale better than a more niche or less trusted alternative. If you buy well and keep the truck in strong condition, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,804, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,322 average.
• It adds a brand-new engine and transmission for a stronger powertrain.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer truck with a more appealing powertrain, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
