CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Summary
With 247 currently listed for sale near Charlotte, NC and an average price of $31,621.00, 43.7% of 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class models for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class 4.67 / 5 stars.
81.4% of 2019 E-Class models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class stands out as a luxury mid-size car that blends comfort, technology, and a broad range of powertrains. In this generation, the E-Class sedan is described as looking like a scaled-down S-Class, with a luxurious, high-tech cabin and two side-by-side 12.3-inch display screens that create the appearance of one large screen. Standard equipment is generous even on the least expensive version, with electric adjustment for the steering wheel and front seats, a rear-view camera, satellite navigation, LED headlamps, and a wealth of driver-assistance safety features. That combination makes it feel like a true luxury car rather than simply a well-equipped sedan.
For 2019, the lineup includes rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive sedan versions, both with mild-hybrid technology and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The E350 sedan uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 295 horsepower, while the E450 4Matic sedan uses a 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine with 369 horsepower. The Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid sits at the top of the range with 577 horsepower, 553 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 mph time of less than four seconds. Buyers looking at this car are getting a model that was already known for strong comfort and prestige, but the tradeoff is that it remains expensive, and some owners have noted that the interior design is starting to show its age.

Solid as a rock. A real cruiser, pretty low to the ground but the interior is as impeccable as an Italian suit. Except it is German! Quiet, composed and no one can tell how old it is. Bought it as a second car, and it shines. Run flats are noisy, may need different tires but so far that’s it. Get one that has been cared for.

|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $27,731 |
| Year-Round Low | $27,359.12 |
| Year-Round High | $29,307.59 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $28,935 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −4.16% |

There are 1,240 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $27,359.12, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise its luxurious feel, smooth ride, and powerful engine options, and many also highlight the handling and comfort balance. For you, that means this model fits especially well if you want a premium mid-size car that feels special in daily driving while still delivering broad appeal. With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Reviewers also describe it as smooth, comfortable, and powerful in a way that feels dependable over time, with the kind of refined driving experience owners tend to keep coming back to. The repeated praise for its comfort and performance suggests you’re looking at a car that many owners feel confident living with beyond the first few years. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about satisfaction and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?
At 64.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, because a luxury car like this can be rewarding only if the maintenance and repair history are solid.

What is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?
The current average of $27,731 sits slightly below last year's $28,935.
That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the car is maintained and presented. If you keep mileage reasonable and service records organized, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Strong condition matters even more in a luxury segment where buyers expect a polished ownership history.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 64.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.16% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $23,636, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $27,731 average.
- It emphasizes premium comfort and prestige with strong owner praise.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $30,731, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,731 average.
- It adds a newer base engine and broader premium appeal.
The bottom line: The 2019 is the best all-around choice if you want strong owner satisfaction, a softer price than last year, and enough inventory to shop carefully. If your priority is saving money, the 2018 is the better value path; if you want to spend more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the natural upgrade.
