Used 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS for Sale near Texas

How much does the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS cost?

Prices have softened 8.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 202 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out for its striking styling, premium cabin, great ride quality, and standard advanced safety features. It is aimed at you if you want a luxury sedan that prioritizes design and comfort over everyday practicality.

The main trade-offs are a cramped back seat and technology that can feel unintuitive, and the car is also described as poor value for money. Even so, the market shows 33.2% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CLS is presented as a more advanced luxury sedan with a smooth, technically sophisticated powertrain and a ride tuned for comfort. Its hybrid-assisted inline-6 setup is described as refined, with very little shake at startup and seamless stop-start behavior, which supports the impression of a well-engineered car.

The powertrain is also described as smooth and capable in everyday driving, and the cabin tech includes conveniences like standard navigation updates, live traffic, and connected services. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that this is a complex luxury car with expensive options and average resale value, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS?

At 70.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been optioned heavily or shows signs of cosmetic repair. Focus on body condition, wheel damage, and the operation of the driver-assistance and infotainment systems, since those are central to the CLS experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CLS 450 4Matic is the base car, and the cabin is described as sumptuous and lavish with rich materials, ambient lighting, and a highly upscale presentation. The base setup already includes a strong feature set, so you should pay close attention to whether the car has the optional designo interior and other expensive extras that materially change the experience.
• Powertrain: The CLS uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 with a 48-volt hybrid system, and the electric motor can add up to 21 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. It is smooth, quiet at startup, and tuned more for relaxed touring than aggressive response.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package adds one of the best semi-autonomous systems in the business, with steering and braking assistance, lane changes when you hold the turn signal, speed-limit adaptation, and curve, intersection, and exit-ramp support. Some features can be overactive or imperfect, so you should test them carefully.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a customizable instrument display, and navigation with three years of map updates and live traffic. Onboard Wi-Fi and wireless charging are optional, so verify whether a specific car has them.
• Fuel efficiency: The rear-wheel-drive CLS 450 is rated at 24 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, while the 4Matic version is rated at 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.

Which 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS trim should I buy?

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS is offered in 2 trim levels: CLS 450 and CLS 450 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• CLS 450: This is the better-value choice if you want the CLS experience with the lowest entry price. It already gives you the smooth inline-6 hybrid powertrain, the striking design, and the upscale cabin, so you are not giving up the core appeal of the car.
• CLS 450 4Matic: Choose this if you want all-wheel drive and are willing to pay more for added traction. It suits you best if you expect to drive in worse weather or simply want the extra security of AWD.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that the Driver Assistance Package is optional, so you should confirm whether a used example has it before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you should shop carefully and compare listings rather than rushing.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 202 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,165, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS's resale value?

The current average of $30,178 sits slightly below last year's $33,062.

That decline suggests the market has already absorbed some of the model's depreciation, which can help if you buy now and hold the car for a while. For a future seller, the softer pricing also means you should expect resale to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Because this model is positioned as a high-end luxury car with expensive options, well-kept examples should still attract interest from buyers who value style and features. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS safe?

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS has not been rated by the IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes pedestrian and blind-spot detection, front and rear cross-traffic alerts, forward-collision alert, auto braking, a driver-attention monitor, and advanced steering assistance. It also includes Car-to-X connected warnings and a system that can help limit the effects of crosswinds.

The Driver Assistance Package adds semi-autonomous highway and lane support, but some of its behavior can be imperfect, so you should test it during a drive. If you are shopping used, make sure the car has the safety features you expect, since some advanced systems are optional.

Should I buy a 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 stands out for its striking styling, advanced safety features, and a more capable powertrain setup.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive version of the CLS formula, the 2019 is the one to target because it combines standout design with strong safety and a refined powertrain. If you are more price-sensitive, focus on the best-condition example you can find and be especially selective about history and equipment, since this is a luxury car where condition and options matter a lot.
