Used 2019 MINI Cooper for Sale nearFort Myers, FL

How much does the 2019 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 6.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 445 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2019 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.6/5 user-rated car with an expert score of 6.3/10. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the fun driving experience, stylish design, and sporty performance. They also like the car’s unique personality, which makes it appealing if you want something that feels distinctive rather than generic.

The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, the technology can be unintuitive, and value for money is a weak point. That lines up with the overview, which frames this MINI as a fit for you if you care more about personality and driving enjoyment than everyday practicality.

With 38.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels fun, distinctive, and enjoyable to live with over time, while also suggesting that you can count on its personality being a major part of the ownership experience. The expert notes also describe it as a car for buyers who value a MINI’s character and want something they can tailor to their preferences.

The performance notes reinforce that this is a car built around engagement and driver involvement, which can be a good sign if you want a used car that still feels special after the novelty wears off. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s quirks and complexity may matter more as mileage and age add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 MINI Cooper?

At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, wheels, and any signs of prior repair. Because this MINI leans heavily on style and technology, condition matters a lot: make sure the features you care about work as intended and that the car still feels tight and well-kept.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The car’s personality is strongest when it stays focused and simple, and the overview specifically points to the John Cooper Works trim as especially fitting for the model’s sporty mission. The expert notes also suggest that the car can feel more complicated as equipment levels rise, so base-trim simplicity may matter if you want the cleanest ownership experience.
• Powertrain: The performance notes highlight the John Cooper Works version as the hottest-performing setup, with the most power, the best handling, the stoutest brakes, and the loudest exhaust system. If you want the most engaging version, that’s the one the test-drive data clearly favors.
• Safety package: The car includes eight airbags, a reversing camera, and Active Driving Assistant with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and a speed-limit information system. Adaptive cruise control is available with the Parking Assistant and front parking sensors in the Driver Assistance Package, while blind-spot monitoring and lane-departure, lane-keeping, and lane-centering assist are not offered.
• Infotainment: The top infotainment system uses an 8.8-inch display with navigation and MINI Connected Services. Wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay are included, but Android Auto is not available.
• Fuel efficiency: No figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2019 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2019 MINI Cooper is offered in 1 trim level: John Cooper Works.

Here's the short version:

The John Cooper Works: trim is the clear choice if you want the most performance-focused version of the car. The test-drive data says it has the most power, the best handling, the stoutest brakes, and the loudest exhaust system, which makes it the best fit for you if driving enjoyment is the priority. It also aligns with the model’s sporty personality better than a more basic setup would.

The safety package is limited overall, so even if you choose this trim, you should still pay close attention to the available driver-assistance equipment and the missing features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 445 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,547, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $15,937 sits slightly below last year's $17,096.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy in at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because this MINI appeals to buyers who want personality and driving enjoyment, well-kept examples should still attract interest. Cars with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 MINI Cooper safe?

The MINI Cooper earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, in part due to a three-star rating for rear seat occupant protection in a side-impact collision.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment includes eight airbags, a reversing camera, and Active Driving Assistant with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and a speed-limit information system. Adaptive cruise control is available with the Driver Assistance Package, which also adds Parking Assistant and front parking sensors.

The main caveat is that several important driver-assistance features are missing, including blind-spot monitoring and lane-departure, lane-keeping, and lane-centering assist. That makes careful option checking especially important if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2019 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The John Cooper Works trim is especially well matched to the car’s sporty mission.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $18,718, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $15,937 average.
• It adds a new electric powertrain option.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and the classic MINI personality, the 2019 is the smarter buy. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model with an electric option, the 2020 is the better path.

How does the 2019 MINI Cooper compare to the 2019 Honda Civic?

Our experts score the 2019 MINI Cooper 6.3/10 and the 2019 Honda Civic 7.8/10. The MINI is the more personality-driven choice, while the Civic is the more practical all-around pick. You’ll get stronger value and broader market availability with the Civic, but the MINI brings a more distinctive design and a more playful driving feel.
