How much does the 2019 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 9.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,648 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2019 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Kia Sorento earns a 4.62/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Technology and Safety.

You get a mix of family-friendly practicality and upscale appeal, with a comfortable ride, spacious interior, and strong value coming through in owner feedback. The overview also points to plenty of room for a family of four, third-row seating, and a stylish, even luxurious feel, which makes it a strong fit if you want comfort and confidence in the same package.

32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers consistently praise the Sorento for being comfortable, spacious, and a great value, and the review summary also points to a smooth driving experience that owners appreciate over time. The expert commentary reinforces that dependable feel with a class-leading warranty and roadside assistance program, which helps support confidence in long-term ownership.

The warranty coverage and roadside assistance are useful cushions, but you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle has been used, especially on higher-mileage examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Kia Sorento?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-trim or higher-mileage Sorento. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment on the specific listing matches the trim level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with the L and moves through LX, EX, SX, and SX Limited. The base L is the most stripped-down version, while the EX adds most of the safety technologies and more upscale equipment, and the SX Limited sits at the top with the most premium presentation.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 185-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder, while the available 290-horsepower 3.3-liter V6 brings smoother, stronger acceleration and is standard on the EX, SX, and SX Limited. All-wheel drive is optional, and the V6 is the better fit if you want more confident passing power.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are included on all versions except the base L. The EX adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and UVO eServices safety features. Lane-keeping assist and driver-attention monitoring are standard on the EX, SX, and SX Limited.
• Infotainment: The L and LX use UVO play with a 7-inch touchscreen, a reversing camera, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The EX upgrades to UVO eServices, and the SX and SX Limited get UVO eServices with Navigation and an 8-inch touchscreen. Wireless charging is included on SX and SX Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 test vehicle returned 20.7 mpg during testing, and the official combined rating is 21 mpg.

Which 2019 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2019 Kia Sorento is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LX, EX, SX, SX Limited.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, but it is the most basic version and misses the blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert that come on the higher trims. It makes sense only if your priority is getting into the Sorento at the lowest possible price.
• LX: This is the better starting point if you want a more usable everyday Sorento, since it builds on the base trim without jumping all the way to the more expensive models. It is the trim to consider if you want a practical balance of equipment and value.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the strongest mix of safety and convenience features, including adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and driver-attention monitoring. It also brings the V6 as standard, which makes it the sweet spot if you want the Sorento’s best all-around package.
• SX: This trim adds a more premium feel and can be paired with the 360-degree surround-view camera system as an option. It suits you if you want more upscale equipment and are willing to pay for it.
• SX Limited: This is the most luxurious version, with the most premium presentation and the 360-degree surround-view camera system standard. Choose it if you want the most fully equipped Sorento.

The EX is the trim most buyers should start with, while the SX Limited makes sense if you want the most upscale version and the richest feature set.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and enough deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,648 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,736, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $13,737 sits slightly below last year's $15,134.

That decline suggests the Sorento has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, you are entering at a lower cost basis, which can help reduce the sting of depreciation if you keep the vehicle for several years.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2019 Kia Sorento gets top marks from both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The Sorento’s safety package is strongest on the EX and above, where you get adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, driver-attention monitoring, and UVO eServices safety features. Lower trims miss some of those advanced driver aids, so trim choice matters if safety tech is a priority.

Should I buy a 2019 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 model brings updated styling, a new 8-speed automatic with the V6, and expanded safety tech on higher trims.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a smart choice if you want the Sorento’s updated look, strong safety reputation, and a market price that has moved lower than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also consider nearby years, but the 2019 stands out as a well-rounded pick when you want a balance of value, equipment, and confidence.
