Is the 2019 Genesis G80 a good car?

Yes — the 4.71/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the luxury feel, smooth and quiet ride, and strong value compared with rivals, while also noting the premium-feeling tech and respectable performance. For you, that means this model makes the most sense if you want a comfortable luxury sedan with an upscale atmosphere and value-oriented pricing rather than a sport-first personality. The market also shows 32.5% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Genesis G80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing the car as smooth, quiet, and a great value over time. That kind of feedback matters because it suggests the G80 can be a trouble-free choice for buyers who want a premium sedan they can count on. For used shoppers, the main long-term risk is less about the car’s appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t accumulated hidden wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Genesis G80?

At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on bodywork quality, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear. Because this model is valued for comfort and refinement, you should also pay close attention to how the cabin, suspension, and electronics feel in real-world use.

What is the 2019 Genesis G80's resale value?

The current average of $21,534 sits slightly below last year's $22,394.

That price movement suggests the model has softened a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale performance will likely depend on how well your specific car stands out on condition, mileage, and history. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move because the G80 still has a strong value story and broad appeal among luxury shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $18,944, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $21,534 average.
• It leans more performance-focused with a stronger sport-oriented character.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the better-balanced value play with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price trend. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2018 is the better secondary path, especially if you want a lower entry price and can live with its more performance-focused personality.
