The Ford Raptors are sharp looking powerful trucks. I personally like the 15-20 bodies better that 21-25. The luxury features are typically fantastic. When equipped with heated/cooled leather seats it's hard to beat. The premium price is hard to swallow but being a few years old makes them more reasonable. The newer Tremor trims are good comparisons is you love Ford trucks and can't stomach the price of a Raptor.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, strong power, and broad feature set, and many also like the value it offers relative to competitors. The truck’s versatility stands out too, since it works well as a daily driver, a family hauler, and a capable work truck. That lines up with the F-150’s roomy cabin and wide range of engine choices, including a diesel option for buyers who want towing strength with better efficiency.
With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Ford F-150 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, comfortable, and easy to live with over time. The expert drive notes also emphasize smooth, confident acceleration and a quiet cabin in many driving situations, which supports the sense that this is a truck you can count on day to day. The diesel powertrain adds useful towing strength and efficiency, and the available maintenance perk language around the first scheduled maintenance visit being on the house can help lower early ownership friction.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the truck’s condition and maintenance history match its mileage and equipment level.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford F-150?
At 74.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage truck or one with towing use. Pay close attention to body condition, interior wear, and how well the truck’s equipment works, since lower-trim examples can be much more basic than the higher-end versions. It’s also smart to confirm that the features you want are actually present, because the F-150’s equipment varies a lot by trim.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base XL is a true work truck with few features beyond a reversing camera, AM/FM radio, a 4.2-inch audio-system screen, and dynamic hitch assist for towing. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, with the XLT bringing power windows and locks plus a larger 8-inch Sync 3 screen, while the Lariat adds a leather interior and heated and ventilated front seats.
- Powertrain: The lineup includes a 3.3-liter V6, a 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, a 5.0-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V6. The diesel makes 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque, and it can tow up to 11,400 pounds when properly equipped.
- Safety package: Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 360-degree camera system is standard on the Limited trim and optional on the rest of the lineup.
- Infotainment: The base XL uses a 4.2-inch center-stack screen with audio controls and Bluetooth connectivity. XLT and higher trims get Sync 3 with an 8-inch color touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and intuitive menu navigation.
- Fuel efficiency: The diesel returns 22 mpg city, 30 highway, 25 combined with rear-wheel drive, or 20 city, 25 highway, 22 combined with 4WD. The most efficient non-diesel engine is the 2.7-liter EcoBoost with 20 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined in rear-wheel drive form.
Which 2019 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?
The 2019 Ford F-150 is offered in 7 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The XL is the most stripped-down choice, and it lacks the comfort and tech upgrades you get as you move up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The XLT is the best value for many shoppers because it adds power windows and locks, a larger 8-inch Sync 3 screen, and a USB port without jumping into luxury pricing.
- Premium/top trim: The Limited is the most upscale choice, with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, a dual-panel moonroof, dual exhaust, and massaging seats.
- Off-road trim: The Raptor is the one to skip if you mainly want a daily driver, since its wide-body setup, underbody armor, and Fox Racing Shox are aimed at off-road performance.
The Limited gets the standard 360-degree camera system, while the rest of the lineup gets it only as an option.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford F-150?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right truck.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,674 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.57% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 74.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $26,412.03, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Ford F-150's resale value?
The current average of $26,858 sits slightly below last year's $28,443.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you a better entry point now than a year ago. If you buy well and keep the truck in good condition, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Trim choice matters too, since well-equipped versions with broad appeal tend to draw stronger interest when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Ford F-150 safe?
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes a full array of front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and a reversing camera. The available driver-assistance suite adds blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 360-degree camera system is standard on the Limited trim and optional elsewhere, so lower trims may need extra equipment if you want that added visibility.
Should I buy a 2019 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 74.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.57% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2019 adds a new diesel option that blends towing strength with useful fuel efficiency.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $24,473, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $26,858 average.
- It delivers a well-rounded mix of capability, comfort, and technology.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $29,293, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $26,858 average.
- It adds a more modern-feeling interior with comfortable road manners and strong engine choices.
The bottom line: You should buy the 2019 if you want a strong mix of capability, comfort, and value, especially with the diesel option in play. If your priority is spending less, the 2018 is the better budget move; if you want to pay more for a newer-feeling package, the 2020 is the upgrade path.
