Is the 2019 Dodge Journey a good car?

The 2019 Dodge Journey earns a mixed but workable case for shoppers who value space and utility over polish, and its user rating is 3.6/5. Owners commonly point to the spacious three-row seating, the powerful V6 engine, and available all-wheel drive and heated seats as the biggest strengths. The interior design also gets positive mention, even as some reviewers want more storage and stronger acceleration. With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Dodge Journey reliable?

Owners describe the 2019 Dodge Journey as a vehicle they can count on in some everyday use cases, especially when they value practical features and cold-weather capability. The feedback also suggests a generally trouble-free experience for some drivers, though the overall tone is still mixed rather than strongly reassuring. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Dodge Journey?

At 58.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Pay close attention to body condition, road manners, and any signs that safety-related repairs or camera issues may have been overlooked. If you can, compare several listings so you can separate a clean example from one that only looks appealing on price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Dodge Journey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,128 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,808, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Dodge Journey's resale value?

The current average of $10,808 sits slightly below last year's $12,188.

That price movement suggests the Journey has lost value over the past year, which can help you buy at a lower entry point today. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the vehicle has a clean history. A well-kept example may hold up better than the market average, but the broader trend still points to softer future pricing.

Should I buy a 2019 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• At 58.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.32% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better path if you want to shop a year with softer pricing and a decent number of deal opportunities. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a cleaner or better-equipped example fits your budget more comfortably.
