Is the 2019 Dodge Journey a good car?

The 2019 Dodge Journey earns a mixed but workable case for shoppers who value space and utility over polish, and its user rating is 3.6/5.

Owners commonly praise the spacious three-row seating, the powerful V6 engine, and the value of all-wheel drive and heated seats in cold climates. The interior design also gets positive mention, even as some reviewers want more storage and stronger acceleration.

With 27.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively if you want to balance price against condition.

Is the 2019 Dodge Journey reliable?

Owners describe the 2019 Dodge Journey as capable of being dependable in the ways that matter most to them, especially when they want a vehicle they can count on in cold weather and for everyday family use.

That said, the mixed feedback around safety features, backup camera quality, and road stability means you should treat reliability as something to verify carefully on each individual used example. For long-term ownership, condition and maintenance history matter a lot more here than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Dodge Journey?

At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the backup camera, stability on the road, and overall interior condition, since those are the areas owners most often call out. Pay close attention to how the vehicle drives at highway speeds and whether all-wheel-drive and heated-seat features work as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Dodge Journey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,228 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,961, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Dodge Journey's resale value?

The current average of $10,998 sits slightly below last year's $12,421.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to mileage, condition, and documented maintenance than to broad market momentum. If you keep the vehicle clean and well maintained, you’ll be in a better position to protect value when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2019 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.45% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing and available inventory, the 2019 is a reasonable place to focus your search. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower-mileage or better-documented example offers more value for the money.
