What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Dodge Challenger?

At 58.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has performance upgrades, higher mileage, or signs of hard use. Focus on overall condition, because the Challenger’s appeal depends heavily on how well the car has been maintained and preserved.

What is the 2019 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $24,867 sits slightly below last year's $25,980.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also suggests the market has been willing to accept lower values over time. If you plan to resell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot, because well-kept examples are more likely to hold buyer interest. Strong demand for this model’s style and performance character can help support future value, especially if you choose a desirable trim and keep mileage and wear in check.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $28,680, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $24,867 average.
• It adds new colors, extra interior choices, and a 50th Anniversary package for some trims.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is broad. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and the added special-package appeal, the 2020 is the secondary path worth considering.
