Overview

The 300 is one of two models under the Chrysler brand. The full-size sedan spans from premium on lesser grades to luxurious on higher ones. For 2019, its ninth year on the market since a full redesign, it sees no major changes.
The Chrysler 300’s familiar engines return for 2019. The standard unit is a 3.6-liter V6 making 292 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. It offers an impressive fuel-economy rating of 19 miles per gallon city, 30 highway, and 23 combined. Heavier-footed drivers will want to opt for the optional 5.7-liter HEMI V8, with its 363 hp and 394 lb-ft. Even with the ability to shut off four of its eight cylinders, the V8’s fuel economy is a not-so-impressive 16, 25, and 19, on mid-grade fuel. Both engines come hooked up to an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive (RWD). The V6 can be had with optional all-wheel drive (AWD).
The 300 comes in Touring, Touring L, 300S, Limited, and 300C variants. The Touring trim comes standard with 17-inch wheels, premium cloth upholstery, an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless start, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and halogen projector-beam headlights. As you get into nicer trims, you’ll see options like leather upholstery, larger wheels, 8-way power seats, navigation, HID headlights, remote start, heated and cooled seats, keyless access, and a sunroof. The 300S and 300C grades have different personalities. The former focuses on sport while the latter focuses on luxury. The 300S gets a mesh black grille, smoke-effect headlights, black window surrounds, and, optionally, special front and rear bumpers. Meanwhile, the 300C gets plenty of chromework, including a unique three-dimensional grille, and special 20-inch wheels. Inside there’s genuine wood grain, a two-tone steering wheel, and Nappa leather.
Safety features on the 300 are in step with those of its competitors, despite its older design. A reversing camera is standard equipment; options include forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, lane-departure warning, rain-sensing wipers, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic detection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) last tested the 300 in 2018, where it achieved a score of Marginal for small front-overlap safety, but Good scores everywhere else.
The Chrysler 300 is one of the few affordable sedans to come standard with rear-wheel drive and to offer a V8. That alone makes it worthy of a look for any full-size car buyer.

I love the Chrysler 300 that I recently purchased. The car rides really smooth, I love the space inside of the car and I really love the upgraded sound system. The big LCD screen is a major plus.

Is the 2019 Chrysler 300 a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Chrysler 300 earns a 4.62/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, powerful engines, and spacious interior, and many also like the value it delivers for the price. For you, that makes it a solid fit if you want a large sedan with comfort and traditional full-size presence rather than a smaller, more modern-feeling alternative. With 27.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Chrysler 300 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also emphasizes dependable everyday comfort, strong powertrains, and a car that many drivers feel good about keeping over time. That kind of response suggests the 2019 Chrysler 300 can be a reassuring used buy if you want a sedan you can count on for regular driving. For you, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core formula and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by age or heavy use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chrysler 300?
At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, signs of repair, and how well the car has been maintained overall. Because this model’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and condition, you’ll want to pay close attention to interior wear, exterior consistency, and any evidence that the car has had a harder-than-average life.

What is the 2019 Chrysler 300's resale value?
The current average of $16,074 sits slightly below last year's $17,430.
That price movement suggests the 2019 Chrysler 300 has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help a future seller if the car is kept in strong condition. Because the market still shows meaningful demand for well-priced examples, a clean, well-maintained car should remain easier to move than one with visible wear or a rough history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Chrysler 300 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.78% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a large, comfortable sedan with strong owner approval and a softer used-car price than it had a year ago, the 2019 Chrysler 300 is the primary path to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2019 stands out as a sensible balance of value, satisfaction, and market availability.
