Used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearCincinnati, OH

How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 11.35% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,938 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and good fuel economy, and many also like the powerful engine and useful features. In use, that lines up well with a compact SUV that aims to be comfortable and practical for everyday driving, especially if you value a roomy cabin and easygoing manners. The market also shows 28.9% of listings as good or great deals, which adds to the appeal if you find the right example.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling SUV that many people are happy to live with over time, especially because of its comfort, fuel economy, and overall ease of use. The expert drive notes also support that impression by describing the model as a straightforward, everyday-friendly crossover rather than something temperamental or complicated. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing a well-equipped, well-maintained example that avoids the lower-trim compromises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, lighting, and any signs of prior repair. Because visibility and camera equipment are a meaningful part of this model year’s appeal, it’s smart to confirm that all camera and safety-related systems work properly. You should also focus on trim content, since some desirable features are pushed into higher trims or packages.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L trim is special-order only and lacks a spare tire, a compass, and most paint choices, while the LS adds those basics back but still keeps equipment sparse. The LT is the practical starting point, and the Premier is where the advanced safety features appear.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque on the L and LS, and the model also offers a 1.6-liter turbodiesel and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine on higher trims. The 1.5-liter is efficient but described as underpowered, especially with passengers or cargo.
• Safety package: The model includes a named suite of advanced safety features, but blind-spot monitoring is only optional on the LT and standard on the Premier, while adaptive cruise and pedestrian detection with auto braking are limited to an expensive package on the top trims. The lower-trim headlights also carry a Marginal IIHS rating.
• Infotainment: The updated system includes an 8-inch touchscreen on equipped versions, standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and HD camera upgrades. The system is easy to use, though response can be laggy.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter engine is rated at 26 mpg city and 32 mpg highway with FWD, while the 2.0-liter turbo AWD setup is rated at 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

Which 2019 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LS, LT, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the cheapest way in, but it is special-order only and comes stripped of basics like a spare tire and compass, so it is hard to recommend for most shoppers.
• LS: This is the real starting point, but it still feels sparse; it mainly restores the basics and adds only modest convenience upgrades.
• LT: This is the best-value trim because it opens the door to the more useful equipment, including the updated tech and available camera and safety upgrades.
• Premier: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete safety and convenience package, including the advanced driver-assistance features that are not standard lower down.

The safety package is not fully standard until the Premier trim, and several desirable features remain optional on the LT.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,938 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.35% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,782, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $13,782 sits slightly below last year's $15,548.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is to buy a clean, well-equipped example that will stand out to the next shopper. Trim content matters here, because better-equipped versions are likely to be easier to market than the most stripped-down examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox does very well in both government and independent testing, scoring top marks in both sets of tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The model includes advanced safety features, but availability is uneven: blind-spot monitoring is only optional on the LT and standard on the Premier, while adaptive cruise and pedestrian detection with auto braking are limited to an expensive package on the top trims. The headlights are a weak point, with both lower-trim halogens and upper-trim HIDs rated Marginal by IIHS, though the available LED setup helps address that issue.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 adds HD rear-view and surround-view cameras, plus an updated infotainment system.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,191, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $13,782 average.
• It offers a newly redesigned compact-SUV layout with a clearer identity.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $15,218, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $13,782 average.
• It adds standard advanced safety features and easier everyday usability.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better pick if you want the updated cameras and infotainment at a softened price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2018 can save you money, while the 2020 is the better choice if you want a broader standard safety and convenience package.
