How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 9.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,331 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its performance, comfort, and style, and they also call out the spacious interior and strong power from the ZR2 and V6 options. In practical terms, that lines up with the Colorado’s straightforward, capability-first approach, which makes sense if you want a midsize truck that focuses on utility more than flash. Even with its age, it still appeals if you value a simple, sensible pickup with real truck strengths.

33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that many drivers find dependable and easy to live with over time, with repeated praise for its performance and comfort. The expert notes also emphasize the Colorado’s simplicity and sensibility, which can be a plus if you want a truck that is straightforward to own and use. Chevrolet’s reduced free maintenance and OnStar trial coverage means you should pay close attention to the truck’s service history and ownership costs before you buy.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about day-to-day satisfaction and more about making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Colorado?

At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, off-roading, or heavy work. Focus on body condition, suspension wear, interior wear, and signs of hard use, since those are the kinds of issues that can matter most on a midsize pickup. If you are comparing multiple listings, the cleanest truck with the best maintenance record is usually the safer bet.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Colorado lineup spans everything from a bare-bones basic extended cab with rear-wheel drive and a 4-cylinder engine to a loaded ZR2 crew cab with 4-wheel drive and the rugged Bison Package. The cabin is simple and practical, but the materials are basic, and the truck’s interior design is more functional than upscale. If you want the most purpose-built version, the ZR2 stands apart from the more ordinary trims.
• Powertrain: You can get a 200-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, a 3.6-liter V6 with 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque, or a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel 4-cylinder with 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the towing standout at up to 7,700 pounds, while the V6 can tow up to 7,000 pounds when properly equipped.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a reversing camera and a Teen Driver monitoring system, and crew cab versions also get a rear-seat reminder. Only the Colorado LT can be optioned with forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems. If you want features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, or lane-keeping assist, you will need to shop elsewhere.
• Infotainment: The Colorado uses Chevrolet Infotainment 3 with a 7- or 8-inch display, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice recognition. It also supports OnStar services, and you can add a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Available upgrades include navigation, a Bose premium sound system, and a wireless phone-charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive notes an EPA rating of 19 mpg for the test vehicle, and the diesel engine is the one tied to the truck’s maximum towing capability.

Which 2019 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 3 trim levels: Base, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the simplest way into the Colorado, and it makes sense if you want the truck’s core utility without paying for extra equipment. It is the least expensive path, but it is also the most stripped-down, so you should only choose it if you are comfortable giving up the nicer features found higher up the range.
• Z71: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds off-road suspension tuning and a more purposeful setup without jumping all the way to the most extreme version. It is a strong middle ground if you want capability and everyday usability in one package.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road choice in the lineup, and the expert content treats it as the version to get if you expect to tackle serious trails. It is the right pick if you want the Colorado’s most rugged character and are willing to pay for it.

Only the Colorado LT can be optioned with forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Colorado?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,331 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,337, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $21,339 sits slightly below last year's $23,459.

That softer pricing suggests the Colorado has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you choose a well-kept truck with strong equipment and a clean history, you are more likely to preserve value than if you buy a rougher example with visible wear. The diesel and ZR2 versions should also be easier to position later because they align with the truck’s strongest capability story.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The Chevy Colorado was awarded a Marginal score for front passenger safety in a small overlap, frontal-impact collision by IIHS, and it earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with three-star rollover protection.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a reversing camera and a Teen Driver monitoring system, and crew cab versions also get a rear-seat reminder. Only the Colorado LT can be optioned with forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems. If you want more advanced driver-assistance features, this truck is limited compared with newer rivals.

The IIHS result is the main caution here, especially if safety is a top priority for your used-truck search.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary highlights the Colorado’s available diesel engine, off-road-tuned ZR2 trim, and simple, sensible character.

The bottom line: The 2019 Colorado makes the most sense if you want a used midsize truck with real capability, a straightforward design, and a market that is currently softer than it was a year ago. If you are price-sensitive, the 2019 can still be a smart buy, but you should be selective about condition and history because the best examples will matter more than the badge alone.
