How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its performance, comfort, and style, and the feedback also points to a spacious interior and strong power from the ZR2 and V6 options. In practical terms, that lines up with the Colorado’s straightforward, useful character and its appeal for buyers who want a truck that focuses on capability rather than flash. It also has 31.3% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially because they value its performance and comfort. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Colorado’s simplicity and sensibility, which can be appealing if you want a truck that’s easy to understand and use. Chevrolet’s reduced free maintenance and trial coverage means you should pay close attention to service history and ownership costs, especially if you plan to keep the truck for the long haul.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Colorado?

At 65.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection of body panels, cabin wear, and any signs of hard use. Because this truck was often bought for work and recreation, condition can vary a lot from one listing to the next. Focus on how well the truck has been maintained, not just how it looks in photos.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Colorado lineup ranges from a bare-bones extended cab with rear-wheel drive and a 4-cylinder engine to a loaded ZR2 crew cab with 4-wheel drive and the rugged Bison Package. The cabin is described as practical and easy to clean, while the rugged versions add more purpose-built styling and hardware. If you want the best blend of value and capability, the Z71 sits in the middle of the range.
• Powertrain: You can get a 200-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, a 3.6-liter V6 with 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque, or a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel 4-cylinder with 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the one to target if towing matters most, since it supports the truck’s maximum 7,700-pound tow rating.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a reversing camera and a Teen Driver monitoring system, and crew cab versions also get a rear-seat reminder. Only the LT can be optioned with forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems. If you want more advanced driver assistance, you’ll need to shop carefully.
• Infotainment: The Colorado uses Chevrolet Infotainment 3 with a 7- or 8-inch display, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice recognition. It also supports OnStar services, and you can add a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Navigation, a Bose premium sound system, and wireless phone charging are available upgrades.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert evaluation notes an EPA rating of 19 mpg for the test vehicle, and the diesel engine is highlighted for its towing strength rather than fuel economy.

Which 2019 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 3 trim levels: Base, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the simplest way into the Colorado, and it makes sense if you want a straightforward truck without extra frills. It’s the least expensive path, but it’s also the most stripped-down, so you should choose it only if you value basic utility above comfort and features.
• Z71: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds off-road suspension tuning and a more capable, better-equipped feel without jumping all the way to the top-end off-road model. It’s the trim to focus on if you want a balanced mix of everyday usability and extra capability.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road version, and the content makes clear that it’s the one to choose if you want the Colorado’s toughest hardware and most rugged character. It’s the right pick if off-pavement ability matters more than price.

The safety content also notes that only the LT can be optioned with forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Colorado?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,337 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.35% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,554, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $21,555 sits slightly below last year's $23,519.

That softer pricing suggests the Colorado has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit further downside if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, the key will be condition, mileage, and trim choice, since better-equipped and better-kept trucks should be easier to move. The market also shows enough inventory and deal activity that buyers are still comparing carefully, so presentation and maintenance history matter.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The Colorado earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with three-star rollover resistance and good frontal and side-impact protection.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a reversing camera and a Teen Driver monitoring system, and crew cab versions also get a rear-seat reminder. Only the LT can be optioned with forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems. The expert safety review also calls out lousy headlights, hard-to-access child seat LATCH anchors, and a Marginal result for front passenger safety in a small overlap frontal-impact test.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 stands out for its available diesel engine, off-road-tuned ZR2 trim, and simple, sensibly configured approach.

The bottom line: If you want a used midsize truck that leans into usefulness, the 2019 Colorado is worth a close look, especially if you value its diesel option or ZR2 capability. If you’re more price-sensitive, shop carefully within the year’s range and focus on well-kept examples with clean history and the right trim for your needs.
