Used 2019 BMW X5 for Sale nearAurora, CO

How much does the 2019 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 11.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,814 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 BMW X5 earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its strong performance, comfort, sleek design, and luxury features. That lines up with the X5’s appeal as a midsize crossover that emphasizes driving enjoyment and a strong blend of utility and performance, even if its tech is not the most advanced in the segment. You should also weigh the positive ownership experience against the fact that some owners mention electrical issues and a limited back seat.

The market shows 33.7% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable over time, with praise centered on its comfort, performance, and upscale feel. At the same time, some reviews mention electrical issues, so you should pay close attention to how the electronics, controls, and accessories behave on a used example.

BMW’s powertrain and transmission combination is described as smooth and confidence-inspiring, which supports the case for solid day-to-day dependability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium SUV with complex systems can become costly if prior maintenance or repairs were skipped.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 BMW X5?

At 73.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the electronics, driver-assistance features, and any signs that the luxury equipment has not aged well. It also makes sense to pay close attention to cabin condition and rear-seat usability, since those are areas that matter most in daily use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base xDrive40i already includes all-wheel drive, adaptive LED headlights and foglights, a panoramic sunroof, an adaptive suspension, faux-leather upholstery with heated front seats, a power liftgate, ambient lighting, and a digital gauge cluster with a 12.3-inch secondary touchscreen. It also brings a strong safety suite, while the M Sport design package adds unique 20-inch wheels, an adaptive M suspension tune, an M steering wheel and aero kit, upgraded leather, four-zone auto climate controls, keyless entry, satellite radio, and roof rails.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder in the xDrive40i, while the xDrive50i adds a turbocharged 4.4-liter V8. The 8-speed automatic is a highlight, and the 6-cylinder setup is praised for smooth, consistent power and strong efficiency.
• Safety package: The standard safety suite includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The X5 uses an updated iDrive system with a 12.3-inch secondary touchscreen. The tech is modern, but it is not the segment leader, and the available gesture control and voice controls can be frustrating.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder is rated at 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined.

Which 2019 BMW X5 trim should I buy?

The 2019 BMW X5 is offered in 2 trim levels: xDrive40i and xDrive50i.

Here's the short version:

• xDrive40i: This is the best-value choice because it gives you the core X5 experience without pushing the price into luxury-overload territory. You still get the smooth turbocharged inline 6-cylinder, all-wheel drive, and a strong standard equipment list, so it should satisfy most shoppers who want the X5’s balance of comfort and performance.
• xDrive50i: Choose this if you want the V8 and are willing to pay for the extra power and upgraded luxury touches. It adds the 4.4-liter V8, real leather upholstery, upgraded multi-contour front seats, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon stereo.

The standard safety suite is already strong on the xDrive40i, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get a solid safety foundation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 BMW X5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,814 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,608, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $24,608 sits slightly below last year's $27,959.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If prices continue to soften, future sellers may need to be more competitive on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still hold attention better than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 BMW X5 safe?

The 2019 BMW X5 earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover tests and five-star ratings in side crash tests. It also earns an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert. That gives you a strong baseline of driver assistance even on the lower trim.

One caveat is that the brake-by-wire setup can feel unfamiliar, and the stopping performance described in testing is not class-leading. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to brake feel and verify that all driver-assistance features work correctly during a test drive.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 brings an all-new redesign with more room, improved power, and a more modern interior.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the right pick if you want the redesigned X5 experience and you value strong performance, comfort, and a lower used price than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
