The current average of $19,458 sits slightly below last year's $21,736.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Audi A5 Sportback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $17,594, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $19,458 average.
• It offers a stylish, practical hatchback layout with a strong everyday appeal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the newer model year and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2018 is the better value path, especially if you find one with a clean record and strong maintenance documentation.
