How much does the 2019 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 8.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,299 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Acura MDX earns a 4.44/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for used shoppers. Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, reliable performance, and V6 power, while the overview frames it as a proven three-row luxury crossover with everyday usability. The market also shows 35.5% of listings as good or great deals, so you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.44/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe the MDX as reliable and appreciate its dependable, trouble-free character, along with the sense that it is a vehicle you can count on. The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by emphasizing the MDX’s proven nature and steady improvement over time. Acura also includes a free 90-day trial of AcuraLink Connect services, which adds some ownership convenience.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge alone, so a careful inspection is still important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Acura MDX?

At 64.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven tire wear, brake condition, and any evidence that the infotainment or driver-assistance systems have been neglected. Because the MDX is a family SUV, interior wear and seat condition can also tell you a lot about how the vehicle was used.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec Package adds a more aggressive appearance, red leather and black Alcantara suede, heated and ventilated front seats, and a sportier cabin presentation, while the Advance Package adds adaptive damping suspension. The base setup is less richly equipped, and the Technology Package is the one that brings blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque paired with a 9-speed automatic. SH-AWD is the setup to seek if you want torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and stronger handling balance.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard on all trims and includes the brand’s driver-assistance suite. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert require the Technology Package.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses dual screens, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice recognition, but the screens are small and the system can be frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard V6 is rated at 21 mpg in combined driving in the expert test notes, and the Sport Hybrid is described as returning much better city fuel economy.

Which 2019 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2019 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package, Sport Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Technology Package: This is the trim to target if you want the most important everyday upgrades, especially the blind-spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert. It is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds meaningful safety equipment without pushing you into the more style-focused or pricier versions.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want the sportiest look and a more distinctive cabin, including the red leather and black Alcantara suede interior, heated and ventilated front seats, and the required SH-AWD system. It suits you best if appearance and driving feel matter more than pure value.
• Advance Package: This is the comfort-oriented pick, thanks to the adaptive damping suspension. If you want the most relaxed ride and a more upscale feel, this is the trim to consider.
• Sport Hybrid: Pick this only if you specifically want the hybrid powertrain’s stronger efficiency and extra output. It is the most specialized choice in the lineup rather than the default recommendation.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert still require the Technology Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,299 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,209, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $21,210 sits slightly below last year's $23,240.

That price decline suggests the MDX has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. A softer market can also make it easier to find a well-kept example without paying a premium. If you plan to resell later, condition and trim choice will matter a lot, especially because buyers still respond to well-equipped, well-maintained luxury SUVs.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.44/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX safe?

The 2019 Acura MDX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all trims and brings the brand’s core driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. You still need the Technology Package to get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The MDX’s Jewel Eye LED headlights also include automatic high-beam activation, though they do not adapt to curves. One caveat is that the safety suite can feel less refined than newer rivals, especially in adaptive cruise control behavior.

Should I buy a 2019 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.44/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 brings improved interior materials, transmission updates, and the new A-Spec Package.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,869, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $21,210 average.
• It adds a broader sense of refinement and a more up-to-date overall presentation.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a proven feature set. If you are willing to spend more for the next model year’s fresher feel, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.
