How much does the 2019 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 7.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 1,308 listings available, you have a solid pool of used MDX options to compare.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Acura MDX earns 4.44/5 from owners and 8/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, reliable performance, luxurious features, and V6 power. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a midsize 3-row crossover SUV that feels mature and well developed rather than brand-new and experimental.

The market also shows 34.7% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.44/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliable performance, and many drivers describe the MDX as a vehicle they can count on for everyday use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the MDX has been refined through continuous improvement, which supports the sense that this is a well-developed SUV rather than a rushed redesign.

The powertrain is presented as a mature, dependable setup, and the 2019 updates address some of the transmission behavior that had been a frustration in earlier versions. If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by age, mileage, or neglected electronics.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Acura MDX?

At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Pay close attention to body condition, signs of prior repair, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the electronics and infotainment system work cleanly and consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec Package adds a more aggressive appearance, unique front and rear bumper treatment, dark trim elements, 20-inch wheels, red leather and black Alcantara upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and an A-Spec steering wheel. The Advance Package adds adaptive damping suspension, while the Technology Package is the trim mentioned for blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque paired with a 9-speed automatic. SH-AWD is the recommended upgrade if you want torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and stronger handling balance.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard on all trims and includes the model’s driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert require the Technology Package. AcuraLink Connect adds automatic collision notification, SOS emergency calling, and a car-finding function.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses dual screens, with the upper display handling navigation, smartphone projection, and vehicle settings, and the lower screen handling radio and secondary climate functions. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, but the system does not have an especially modern feel.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard MDX is rated at 21 mpg in combined driving, and the Sport Hybrid is described as returning much better city fuel economy.

Which 2019 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2019 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package, Sport Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Technology Package: This is the trim to target if you want the most important everyday upgrades, especially the safety equipment that includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It is the best-value choice for many used buyers because it adds meaningful convenience and safety without pushing you into the most expensive versions.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want the sportiest look and a more distinctive cabin, including the red leather and black Alcantara interior, 20-inch wheels, and the required SH-AWD system. It suits you best if style and driving feel matter as much as family practicality.
• Advance Package: This is the pick if you want the most comfort-oriented setup, especially the adaptive damping suspension. It makes the most sense if you care more about ride quality and refinement than appearance upgrades.
• Sport Hybrid: Pick this only if you specifically want the hybrid powertrain and its stronger efficiency focus. It is the most specialized choice in the lineup and best for shoppers who prioritize fuel savings over simplicity.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, but the Technology Package is still the key trim for the extra driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,308 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,556, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $21,556 sits slightly below last year's $23,258.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can work against you if you plan to sell soon. If you buy now, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than on broad market momentum alone.

The MDX still has appeal because it combines family-friendly space, strong V6 power, and a loyal owner base. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones, but the softer pricing trend means future sellers may need to be more competitive.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.44/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX safe?

The 2019 Acura MDX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX trims and covers the model’s core driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. You still need the Technology Package to get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so safety equipment is not completely uniform across the lineup.

The main caveat is that IIHS downgraded the MDX from its earlier Top Safety Pick+ standing because of Acceptable headlight performance and child-seat anchor accessibility. Acura’s Jewel Eye LED headlights are praised, but they do not adapt to curves.

Should I buy a 2019 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.44/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 update improves the infotainment system and adds the A-Spec Package, while also refining transmission behavior.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,924, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $21,556 average.
• It adds a more broadly appealing package of standard advanced safety features and a more confident flagship positioning.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and the model already has strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch for a newer example and want the next year’s broader standard safety emphasis, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative.
