How much does the 2018 Toyota Prius cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 438 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2018 Toyota Prius stands out as a practical hybrid built around fuel efficiency, reliability, and everyday usefulness. It also offers a useful hatchback layout, a comfortable cabin, and available all-wheel drive, so it fits well if you want an efficient commuter with extra versatility. 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2018 Toyota Prius reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2018 Toyota Prius is described as a model that built its reputation on reliability, and the overview emphasizes dependable ownership as one of its core strengths. It also benefits from a stiffer body structure and upgraded suspension, which support the sense of durability and everyday confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that hybrid components can raise repair costs if maintenance has been deferred.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota Prius?

At 58.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear or repair. Because this model is a hybrid, you should also focus on overall maintenance history and how well the car has been cared for over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Prius?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a solid example.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 438 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,154, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota Prius's resale value?

The current average of $17,831 sits slightly above last year's $17,655.

That small increase suggests the 2018 Toyota Prius has held value fairly well rather than dropping sharply. For a future seller, that kind of stability can be helpful because it points to steady buyer interest and a market that has not weakened much. Its reputation for efficiency and practicality should continue to support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a dependable used hybrid.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Prius or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $19,739, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $17,831 average.
• It adds a revised trim strategy and an available electric all-wheel-drive option.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because pricing is steadier and the average cost is lower. If you are willing to spend more for a newer-year alternative with added availability of electric all-wheel drive, the 2019 is worth a look.
