How much does the 2018 Toyota Prius cost?

Prices have softened 1.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 482 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for a car that emphasizes fuel efficiency, reliability, and everyday usefulness. The 2018 Toyota Prius also benefits from a stiffer body structure, upgraded suspension, and a more aerodynamic shape, all aimed at improving handling, ride comfort, and fuel economy. Inside, you get better materials, newer tech, comfortable front seats, and common equipment like a touchscreen infotainment system, a rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. For you, that means a practical hybrid with a useful hatchback layout and available all-wheel drive, though it is not especially powerful. 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2018 Toyota Prius reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2018 Toyota Prius is described as a practical hybrid that built its reputation on reliability and everyday usefulness. Its appeal centers on efficiency and durability, and the model’s strong ownership reputation fits that profile. You should still keep in mind that hybrid components can raise repair costs over time, so long-term ownership risk is more about repair complexity than basic dependability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota Prius?

At 59.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the hybrid system, since repair costs can be higher if components need attention. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and how the car drives, because those details matter more when you are shopping a used hybrid.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Prius?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 482 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.25% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,160, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota Prius's resale value?

The current average of $17,273 sits slightly below last year's $17,491.

That small decline suggests the Prius is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively appreciating. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend points to a market that is stable enough to support resale, while still leaving room for buyers to negotiate. The strongest examples will be the ones with clean history, good condition, and clear maintenance records, since those traits help preserve demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Prius or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $19,734, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $17,273 average.
• It adds a revised trim strategy and an electric all-wheel-drive option.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a lower entry price and strong value in a proven hybrid. If you can spend more and want the newer-year updates, the 2019 is the better secondary path; if price matters most, the 2018 is the smarter buy.
