How much does the 2018 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its off-road capability, reliability, style, and durability, while also noting its rugged character and long-lasting appeal. If you want a body-on-frame SUV that prioritizes trail use and toughness over car-like refinement, this model year fits that use case well. 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, durability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers saying they trust it for long-term use. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used SUV you can count on over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about core dependability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not abused off-road.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the truck has been used for trail driving or towing. Put inspection priority on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any evidence of hard use. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since those will tell you more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

This is a moderate market, so you can buy thoughtfully without feeling rushed, but the best listings still deserve quick action.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,760 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,190, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $28,892 sits slightly below last year's $29,572.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also suggests resale gains may be more limited in the near term. If you plan to sell later, condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, especially for a vehicle that buyers often evaluate on durability and overall care. Strong examples should still hold interest because shoppers in this segment tend to value proven capability and reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $31,485, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $28,892 average.
• It adds a more modern-feeling cabin and broader everyday usability.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition. If you can stretch for the 2019, it may be the better pick for buyers who want a newer-feeling SUV and are willing to pay more for it.
