User feedback points to a car that many owners find dependable over time, especially when it comes to the core driving experience and the way Tesla’s software-driven features keep the car feeling current. The strongest reliability-related takeaway is that owners often describe the car as something they can count on for standout performance and advanced tech. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been well cared for, since condition matters a lot on a vehicle with this kind of technology and premium hardware.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Tesla Model S?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a full history report and confirm the car’s accident record before you move forward. A careful inspection should focus on overall condition, since owner feedback points to concerns around build quality and interior luxury. It also makes sense to pay close attention to how the car presents in person, because a tech-heavy luxury EV can hide expensive issues if you skip the inspection step.

That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which can help future sellers because pricing expectations stay predictable.
