How much does the 2018 Subaru Legacy cost?

There are 632 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Subaru Legacy earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its excellent safety features, comfortable ride, spacious interior, great fuel economy, and reliability. That lines up well if you want a practical midsize sedan with standard all-wheel drive, a strong safety and technology story, and a comfortable cabin for everyday use.

With 28.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability alongside comfort and fuel economy, with drivers describing the car as dependable for everyday use. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used sedan you can count on for routine commuting and long-term ownership.

For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the car’s condition beyond the listing photos and description. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven wear, and any issues that could affect long-term reliability or resale.

Because this model is often bought for its safety and practicality, it makes sense to be especially careful about accident history and overall condition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 632 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,019, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $14,370 sits slightly below last year's $14,984.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also mean future resale gains are likely to be modest. If you plan to sell later, condition and history will matter a lot, especially because buyers in this segment tend to compare clean, well-kept examples closely.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2018 is a strong choice if you want standard all-wheel drive, a comfortable ride, and a well-liked ownership experience, especially if you can find a clean example at a competitive price. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented listing rather than chasing the lowest sticker alone.
