Owners consistently praise its sporty feel, all-wheel drive capability, and confidence in varied weather, and they also like that it works well for daily use and family needs. The owner feedback also points to a reliable, dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, especially for buyers who want a car they can count on in varied weather and for daily use. Its strong long-term appeal comes from the combination of all-wheel drive, practicality, and comfort that owners repeatedly value. What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Impreza?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or signs of heavy use. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and how well the car has been cared for, since those factors matter more when you are choosing among many similar listings.

That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which is generally helpful if you plan to sell later. Strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand over time, which can soften depreciation compared with less-liked alternatives.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,697, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $13,730 average.
• It offers a practical, affordable all-wheel-drive package.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price stability, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2017 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in clean condition and can live with a slightly older model year.
