Is the 2018 RAM 3500 Chassis a good car?

With no expert test-drive score available for this model year, your best read comes from the market itself: the 2018 RAM 3500 Chassis is showing a moderate buying environment, with a meaningful share of listings priced competitively. That makes it a reasonable option if you want to shop carefully and compare condition, mileage, and equipment across listings.

The market currently shows 29.5% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you’re selective.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 RAM 3500 Chassis?

At 67.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for heavy-duty work. Focus on signs of frame damage, uneven wear, repair quality, and overall condition rather than relying on mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 3500 Chassis?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings may still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 129 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,173, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 3500 Chassis's resale value?

The current average of $29,216 sits slightly below last year's $29,597.

That softer pricing can work in your favor if you’re buying now, but it also suggests future resale may be shaped by how well you preserve condition and documentation. If you plan to sell later, keeping the truck clean, well maintained, and backed by service records should help you protect value. A well-kept example is likely to stand out more if market prices remain near this range.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 3500 Chassis or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.29% compared with last year.

The bottom line:
The 2018 is a sensible choice if you want to shop a year with softer pricing and a decent pool of listings. If you’re focused on value, this is a good year to compare closely and negotiate. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep an eye out for listings near the low end of the range and be ready to move when condition and history check out.
