What is the 2018 Nissan Maxima's resale value?

The current average of $13,908 sits slightly below last year's $15,370.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and documentation than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers still respond to the Maxima’s strong owner satisfaction and sporty-sedan appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Maxima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $16,869, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $13,908 average.
• It brings a mild refresh with updated style, technology, and interior features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you can spend more and want the refreshed look and updates, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
