How much does the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

There are 602 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — 4.71/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the model’s appeal for sporty feel, fuel efficiency, and reliable performance. Owners also frequently praise the handling and the features you get for the price, which makes the car feel more engaging than many compact alternatives. For you, that means the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 is especially appealing if you want a compact car that feels stylish and enjoyable rather than purely utilitarian. With 30.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliable performance, along with praise for the car’s overall build quality and high safety ratings. That combination suggests the model has earned trust from people living with it day to day, not just from test-drive impressions. For used buyers, that usually means lower anxiety about long-term ownership, though you should still verify maintenance history and condition before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Mazda MAZDA3?

At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any car you’re seriously considering so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past repairs, since those details matter more when accident history is common. You should also focus on overall wear and maintenance records, because a clean-looking car can still hide expensive issues if it was poorly cared for.

What is the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $15,071 sits slightly above last year's $14,920.

That modest increase suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A stable price trend can help support resale confidence because it shows buyers are still willing to pay for the car’s mix of style and driving appeal. If you keep the car in good condition and maintain it well, you’re more likely to preserve that value when it’s time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.01% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,262, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,071 average.
• It adds a meaningful update and sharper driving feel.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $16,842, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $15,071 average.
• It feels more upscale and refined.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the best all-around pick if you want a strong mix of value, owner satisfaction, and market availability. If your budget is tighter, the 2017 is the smarter price-first alternative, while the 2019 makes sense if you’re willing to pay more for a more premium-feeling compact car.
