Used 2018 Hyundai Accent for Sale nearGrand Rapids, MI

How much does the 2018 Hyundai Accent cost?

Prices have softened 5.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 275 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Hyundai Accent a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is the user rating, and the Accent also earns a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2018 Accent is positioned as a small, affordable car with a starting price below $15,000, and its value case is reinforced by stylish design, desirable options, and a 10-year powertrain warranty. It’s aimed squarely at budget-conscious buyers who want a traditional three-box sedan without spending much, and that use case is central to its appeal.

23.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Hyundai Accent reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Accent’s reliability case is helped by its simple, straightforward design and its focus on low-cost ownership. The expert review also points to a 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, which is a meaningful ownership advantage for a used-car buyer. Its engine was retuned for better efficiency and more power at city speeds, and the car is described as pleasant in around-town driving and comfortable on the highway.

For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained well and still feels tight, since budget-focused cars can vary a lot in condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Hyundai Accent?

At 48.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows signs of heavy use. Focus on overall condition, because the Accent’s value proposition depends on finding one that still feels clean, simple, and well cared for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level SE comes with steel wheels, while the SEL adds chrome trim and 17-inch alloy wheels; the Limited adds a power sunroof, a proximity key with push-button start, heated seats, and automatic climate control.
• Powertrain: The Accent uses a 130-hp, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, and Hyundai says it was retuned for better efficiency and more power at city speeds. The optional 6-speed automatic transmission was described as a little slow to respond, while the base SE comes standard with a stick.
• Safety package: Automatic emergency braking is available only on the Limited.
• Infotainment: Bluetooth and a reversing camera are standard on every Accent, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available only on the SEL and Limited trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review cites about 29 mpg in combined driving, and the EPA rating is 32 mpg.

Which 2018 Hyundai Accent trim should I buy?

The 2018 Hyundai Accent is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value-first choice if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the extra convenience features. It keeps things simple with steel wheels and standard Bluetooth plus a reversing camera.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim because it adds the biggest everyday upgrades, including chrome trim, 17-inch alloy wheels, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic headlights, a telescoping steering wheel, heated side mirrors, and rear disc brakes.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience features, including a power sunroof, proximity key with push-button start, heated seats, automatic climate control, and the only available automatic emergency braking.

The safety package note is simple: automatic emergency braking is available only on the Limited.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Hyundai Accent?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 23.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 275 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 48.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,132, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Hyundai Accent's resale value?

The current average of $9,380 sits slightly below last year's $9,902.

That price movement suggests the Accent has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and trim than on broad market momentum. If you buy well and keep the car clean and documented, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Hyundai Accent safe?

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has crash-tested the new Accent. The only available active safety feature is automatic emergency braking, and that’s available only if you pay for the Limited.

That means you should pay close attention to trim level if safety tech matters to you, since the most useful driver-assistance feature is not standard across the lineup. For used buyers, the lack of published crash-test results is the main safety caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2018 Hyundai Accent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 23.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 Accent stands out for being one of the most affordable cars on the market while still offering stylish design, desirable options, and a 10-year powertrain warranty.

The bottom line: If you want a small, inexpensive sedan with strong value and a straightforward ownership story, the 2018 Accent is the right year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, shop carefully for a clean, well-kept example near the low end of the range; if you want the best mix of features and value, the SEL is the trim to focus on.
