How much does the 2018 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 8.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,519 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Honda Pilot earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its great value, spaciousness, and driving comfort, and many also like the rear entertainment system and roomy interior. That makes it a strong fit if you want a family-focused midsize SUV with everyday practicality and comfort. With 34.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2018 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback describes it as reliable and dependable, with owners saying it feels like a vehicle they can count on for family use and daily driving. The same reviews also point to a generally trouble-free ownership experience, even if some drivers mention minor concerns such as radio sound quality and emissions-related issues. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of unresolved mechanical problems.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Pilot?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body repairs, alignment, and any signs of hidden damage. It also makes sense to pay close attention to overall condition, since accident history can affect both long-term reliability and resale value.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,519 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,057, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $18,057 sits slightly below last year's $19,766.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation. If you plan to resell later, the current market gives you a reasonable entry point, though future value will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and accident history. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers still respond to the Pilot’s family-friendly reputation and practical layout.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $16,925, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $18,057 average.
• It offers a practical, family-friendly focus with spaciousness and comfort.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall value proposition, the 2018 is the better primary target because it combines a lower current price trend with strong owner satisfaction and solid inventory. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in clean condition with a good maintenance record.
