By this point in the second generation, GMC had already moved the Canyon toward a more luxurious identity, and that character shows up in the available Denali trim, which adds chrome exterior accents, 20-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a Bose premium audio system, and a wireless charging pad. The Canyon also offers a wide spread of trims and equipment, from the more work-oriented versions to off-road-focused models, giving buyers more ways to tailor the truck to their needs.
For 2018, the Canyon’s infotainment screen was increased to seven inches, and the rearview camera gained trailering assist guidelines. That year’s lineup also included the Denali trim with its upscale equipment, while the available off-road package brought features such as all-terrain tires, an off-road-tuned suspension, a locking rear differential, hill descent control, front recovery hooks, and power-adjustable heated front seats. The Canyon’s appeal is also helped by its available diesel engine, which was the mileage leader in the second generation and was rated at 22/30 mpg city/highway and 25 mpg combined in rear-wheel-drive form.

While not having a lot to compare it to, it appears so far to be a strong running engine (2.8 Duramax) . The seating seams hard in contrast to my last truck (2500 HD ) , both being Denali versions with leather seats . The fuel mileage is outstanding averaging low to mid 30s . The electronics package is full of creature comforts including heated and cooled seats . Overall a nice ride.
