Is the 2018 Ford Taurus a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Ford Taurus earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, extensive features, and comfort, and many also like its aesthetics and reliability. That fits a roomy full-size sedan aimed at you if you want straightforward power, a spacious cabin, and a broad feature set rather than a flashy driving experience. Is the 2018 Ford Taurus reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also highlights reliability alongside comfort and strong performance, and drivers describe the car as dependable enough to be a satisfying daily choice. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger ownership risk is less about the model’s basic durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by higher mileage or neglect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Ford Taurus?

At 57.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch bodywork, suspension, or wear-related issues that may not show up in photos. Focus closely on overall condition, maintenance records, and how the car drives, especially if you’re comparing higher-mileage examples or listings priced near the low end of the market.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Taurus?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $12,003, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Taurus's resale value?

The current average of $12,063 sits slightly below last year's $13,915.

That price movement suggests the Taurus has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit how much value it loses from here compared with a newer, pricier sedan. For a future seller, that can be a mixed blessing: you may not see dramatic appreciation, but a lower entry price can make the car easier to move if it’s clean, well maintained, and priced competitively. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a sensible pick if you want a roomy full-size sedan with strong owner approval and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains the better all-around choice when you want a balance of value, satisfaction, and available inventory.
