Why it stands out

The 2018 Ford Expedition stands out as a completely redesigned full-size SUV that is positioned as a strong choice for buyers who want the traditional strengths of the segment. It offers more interior room, greater comfort, superior cargo space, and significantly more towing capacity than either the Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon. Those qualities make it especially appealing for families and anyone who needs a large SUV that can handle passengers, luggage, and towing duties with ease.

It is also presented as the best full-size, mainstream-brand SUV money can buy, which underscores how well it balances capability and everyday usability. Owner feedback reinforces that impression, with drivers frequently praising its spaciousness, power, and comfort, along with the available features and good fuel economy for a vehicle of this size. At the same time, some owners have raised concerns about high repair costs and steering feel with larger rims, so the Expedition’s strengths are clear even if long-term ownership costs may give some shoppers pause.
