Used 2018 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearOklahoma City, OK

How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 11.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,668 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, comfortable ride, and impressive cargo space, and they also highlight the value for money. That lines up well with the Traverse’s role as a three-row crossover that’s meant to give you family-friendly space and everyday usability without pushing into full-size SUV pricing.

The model’s broad appeal is strongest if you want a roomy, comfortable, and practical SUV with useful tech and strong capability for the class. With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centered on comfort, space, and value. The expert review also describes the Traverse as a strong, easy-to-live-with family SUV with solid build quality and a refined V6, which supports the case for long-term confidence.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that this generation can still be sensitive to how it was maintained and driven, so a careful inspection matters more than assuming every example will age the same way.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 62.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that’s been used for family hauling. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear in the cabin, and whether the vehicle feels well cared for, since that will matter more than brochure features on a used three-row SUV.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Lower trims are fairly basic, while higher trims add a more upscale cabin and more equipment. The LT is the minimum trim worth targeting if you want a better mix of features and value, and the Premier or High Country are the trims that unlock the full safety suite.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic, while the RS gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 255 horsepower and front-wheel drive only. The V6 is the better fit if you want stronger all-around capability and towing confidence.
• Safety package: The Traverse includes Rear Seat Reminder, but forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist are reserved for the pricier Premier and High Country trims. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert also requires at least the LT.
• Infotainment: Chevrolet’s MyLink system includes a 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, OnStar services, and Teen Driver technology. Leather-seat versions add an 8-inch display and navigation, while Premier and High Country also get a wireless device charger.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says the V6 returned 20.6 mpg on a testing loop, better than the EPA’s estimate of 20 mpg.

Which 2018 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 7 trim levels: L, LS, LT with cloth seats, LT with leather seats, RS, Premier, High Country.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, but the review makes clear that lower trims are fairly basic, so you should only choose it if price matters more than features.
• LS: This is the first step up if you want a more usable everyday setup without jumping too far in price, but it still keeps the Traverse in a fairly stripped-down configuration.
• LT with cloth seats: This is the best-value trim because the review specifically says you’ll probably want to get the Traverse LT, and it adds a better mix of appearance, color choices, and equipment while also being the minimum trim for blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• LT with leather seats: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale cabin, since leather-seat versions add the 8-inch MyLink display, navigation, and a 10-speaker Bose sound system.
• RS: This is the one to consider if you want the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, but it is front-wheel drive only and is more about a different powertrain character than broad family value.
• Premier: This is the trim to target if you want the full safety package, including forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist.
• High Country: This is the top-end choice if you want the most upscale version of the Traverse, standard AWD, and the most complete feature set.

The safety-package note is important here: you need to move up to the Premier or High Country trims to get the full driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,668 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.74% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,782, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $14,782 sits slightly below last year's $16,747.

That price movement suggests the Traverse has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the current market average or below it, you reduce the chance of taking a steep value hit later.

Strong demand for roomy, family-friendly SUVs can also help support resale, especially when the vehicle has a good reputation with owners. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is available with all the modern driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems, but you need to buy the pricey Premier or High Country trim levels to access forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard Rear Seat Reminder is a useful family-focused feature, and the Traverse also offers blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert starting on the LT. One important caveat is that the full suite of advanced safety tech is not standard on lower trims, so you’ll need to shop carefully if those features matter to you.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign gives you a larger, more useful, and more efficient Traverse with strong value relative to full-size SUVs.

The bottom line: The 2018 Traverse is the right pick if you want the redesigned model-year benefits, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that currently favors careful shoppers. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still find attractive deals, but you should focus on condition and trim because the best safety and convenience features are concentrated higher up the lineup.

How does the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse compare to the 2018 GMC Acadia?

Our experts score the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse 8/10 and the 2018 GMC Acadia 7.2/10.

The Traverse is the stronger choice if you want more power, more space, and a better overall value proposition in a three-row family SUV. The Acadia is smaller and less powerful, but it does return better city fuel economy and has a slightly higher share of good and great deals in the market.
