How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

There are 1,538 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.57/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the truck’s powerful diesel performance, smooth ride, and comfort, and they also call out its quality construction and added amenities. For you, that means this heavy-duty pickup fits best if you want serious capability without giving up too much everyday comfort. With 27.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also highlights reliability, along with quality construction and a trouble-free feel that helps support confidence in long-term ownership. That matters if you plan to keep the truck for work or towing, because dependable operation is especially important in a heavy-duty pickup. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the truck’s core capability and more about how hard it was used before you buy it.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

At 70.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with prior damage. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the frame, suspension, towing hardware, and cabin wear, since heavy-duty trucks often see demanding use. Focus on condition first, because a well-kept truck is more important than a lower sticker price on this kind of vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $30,872, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $30,872 sits slightly below last year's $32,710.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at a strong price and keep the truck in clean condition, you give yourself a better chance of preserving value. Trucks with broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction tend to stay easier to move later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,495, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $30,872 average.
• It emphasizes worksite-friendly diesel capability and practical features.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want the stronger overall mix of price, owner satisfaction, and market choice. If your priority is spending a bit less, the 2017 is the better value-focused alternative, especially if its work-oriented strengths fit your needs.
