How much does the 2018 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 7.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,631 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, power, and towing capacity, and many highlight the Cummins engine’s strong pulling performance. The 2018 RAM 2500 also fits you well if you want a heavy-duty pickup that blends serious utility with a more upscale interior and useful tech features. With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable, and the review summary also points to dependable performance, especially from the Cummins engine. That kind of feedback matters if you want a truck you can count on for towing and heavy-duty use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure prior use and maintenance history match the truck’s demanding job.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 RAM 2500?

At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if you are comparing multiple trucks with similar prices. Put inspection priority on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any evidence that the truck was used hard for towing or hauling. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since heavy-duty trucks can vary a lot in how they were treated.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,631 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,484, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $31,484 sits slightly below last year's $33,994.

That price movement suggests the truck has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you buy well and keep the truck in strong condition, you can help protect your value over time. Trucks with broad appeal and strong towing credentials tend to stay relevant with shoppers who need capability first.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,358, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $31,484 average.
• It offers a broader work-and-family appeal with plenty of comfort and utility.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want the newer year and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2017 is the better secondary path because it comes in below the current year's average price while still delivering the core heavy-duty appeal.
