Used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale near Minnesota

How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 3.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,635 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its powerful diesel performance, smooth ride, and comfort, while also noting good fuel economy and reliability. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a heavy-duty truck that can handle real work while still feeling reasonably modern inside. The market also shows 30.6% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, quality construction, and a truck that many owners feel they can count on. That said, some buyers do mention build-quality quibbles, so a careful inspection still matters on a used example. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is buying a truck that has been worked hard without proper maintenance or condition checks.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

At 71.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage matches the seller’s disclosure. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on trucks that may have been used for towing or jobsite duty. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of heavy wear so you can separate a well-kept truck from one that has been overused.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,635 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $31,389 sits slightly below last year's $32,534.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, especially for a heavy-duty truck where buyers pay close attention to wear. Strong demand for well-kept examples should help support value, but you should still expect resale to track market conditions closely.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,131, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $31,389 average.
• It is built for hard work and especially appeals to contractors.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the stronger overall mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current-market availability. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2017 is the better price-sensitive path, especially if you mainly care about work-focused capability.
