How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating, and owners consistently praise its power, fuel economy, and comfortable ride. The review feedback also highlights its good handling and a more luxury-like feel, which fits a truck that works well for both daily driving and heavier-duty use. For you, that means the 2018 Silverado 1500 makes sense if you want a full-size pickup with broad everyday usefulness and a comfortable driving experience. With 32.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that many drivers find dependable, with praise centered on power, fuel economy, and a comfortable ride that holds up over time. That said, some owners mention traction concerns in certain conditions, so you should still pay close attention to how a used example has been maintained and driven. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is buying a truck with hidden wear or neglected service history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

At 65.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the truck has had multiple owners or a higher-than-average mileage profile. Put inspection priority on body condition, signs of prior repair, and how the truck drives under load and at highway speeds. Because this model year has a reputation for transmission-related problems, a thorough mechanical inspection matters just as much as cosmetic condition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,001 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,549, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $22,549 sits slightly below last year's $25,218.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the truck in clean condition, you can help protect your future resale position. Strong owner satisfaction can also support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $26,175, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $22,549 average.
• It brings a redesigned truck with a more refined, spacious interior.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the better value and are willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer redesign, the 2019 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize the updated truck experience over upfront savings.
