How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 10.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,013 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners most often praise its power, fuel economy, comfortable ride, and luxury-like feel, and they also like its good handling. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size pickup that still feels usable for everyday driving while delivering the capability and comfort buyers expect from this class. 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that many drivers find dependable, with praise centered on its power, fuel economy, and comfortable ride. That said, some owners mention traction concerns in certain conditions, so you should still evaluate how a specific truck has been used and maintained. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a truck with hidden wear or unresolved mechanical issues rather than a well-kept example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has higher mileage or signs of heavy use. Focus your condition check on the transmission, suspension, brakes, and overall maintenance history so you can separate a clean, well-kept truck from one that may bring expensive surprises.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,013 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,337, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $22,338 sits slightly below last year's $24,910.

That price movement suggests the truck has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you choose a clean, well-maintained example, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it comes time to sell. Trucks with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $25,851, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $22,338 average.
• It brings a redesigned truck with a more refined ride and a roomier-feeling interior.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer redesign, the 2019 is the better upgrade path; if price matters most, the 2018 is the smarter buy.
