Drivers’ feedback also points to a car that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise centered on its comfort, value, and solid performance. That kind of owner sentiment suggests the Impala can be a sensible used buy if you want a large sedan you can count on for regular driving. For long-term ownership, the main risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t accumulated hidden wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Impala?

At 48.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch bodywork, alignment, or repair-quality issues. Focus closely on overall condition, since a car with a clean-looking exterior can still hide past damage or uneven wear. If you’re comparing multiple listings, give extra weight to the ones with clearer records and stronger maintenance evidence.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Impala?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 684 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 48.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,619, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $12,716 sits slightly below last year's $13,262.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can matter if you plan to sell later. A softer current price can limit near-term appreciation, but it can also help keep the car attractive to used buyers who are shopping on value. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want a roomy, comfortable full-size sedan with strong owner approval and a softer price than last year, the 2018 is a sensible primary target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can keep shopping nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than the newest badge alone.
