How much does the 2018 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 5.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,194 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, ride quality, powerful acceleration, and smooth handling, which fits a sedan that is meant to feel engaging as well as premium. The overview also shows why it appeals to you if you want a compact luxury sedan with a practical side, since it offers a broad mix of engines, drivetrains, and transmissions. With 31.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers find dependable in daily use, especially when it comes to the driving experience and overall enjoyment. That said, the same feedback also hints that you should pay attention to wear items and ownership details, since some owners mention concerns around the tire sensor and the lack of a spare tire. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the car’s appeal and more about how well it has been maintained over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or repair issues. Focus closely on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of uneven wear, since those details matter a lot on a premium sedan like this. If a car has prior damage, make sure the repairs were done cleanly and that the price reflects the history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,194 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,802, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $15,013 sits slightly below last year's $15,889.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the car in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. Demand should remain supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal among shoppers who want a premium sport sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $20,157, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $15,013 average.
• It adds a more advanced software experience.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want the better value and are willing to inspect carefully. If you want the newer model’s upgraded software experience and can stretch your budget, the 2019 is the cleaner upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2018 remains the smarter buy as long as you verify history and condition.
